It was here, within the ancestral seat of Montboissier, that Pierre le Vénérable entered the world in 1092. This future Abbot of Cluny, a man whose intellectual and spiritual reach spanned the entirety of Christendom, remains the village’s most illustrious son. The architectural heart of the village beats within the Romanesque parish church, a structure that anchors the settlement with its grave, weathered masonry.
