The Henriette Trail

Start: Cross the D112 and descend between the houses of L’Hirodie. Take the grassy track beside a channelled stream. Cross the footbridge over the Miodet and climb through woodland to interpretation panel No. 1 and the paved track.

1. Cross and climb through the wood opposite to panel No. 2. Continue right to a magnificent view of the Chaîne des Dômes and panel No. 3. La Guesle is 150 m farther on.

2. Turn left on the D112 for 600 m, then climb directly into the wood on the right to panel No. 4. At the track junction descend left between walls to Le Jaladis and panel No. 5.

3. Descend on the track right of the cross, pass a ruined house and continue for 450 m to the former Ganille silk mill and panel No. 6. Cross the footbridge over the Miodet.

4. Follow the road left for 50 m (short-cut available left), then take a path right climbing along the forest edge. Cross the road and continue on the path opposite. Rejoin the D112 and follow it left for 300 m to Vindiol.

5. Leaving the hamlet, pass right between the buildings before the last house and descend into the valley on a sunken lane branching left. On the climb it passes behind a pond and reaches the D105. Follow it uphill for 300 m to La Gravière, where Henriette kept her café.

6. Continue straight up the D996 for 250 m and take the first path left after a Douglas-fir plantation. Continue straight past the water reservoir to Vindiolet.

7. Leave the hamlet on the track left. One hundred and fifty metres after the last house, turn right beside a wood to panel No. 7. Continue on the track right, descending for 800 m to L’Hirodie.
