Départ : Depuis le parking du bourg de Saint-Jean-d'Heurs, contourner la salle polyvalente et à la route goudronnée, l'emprunter à gauche en direction du villge de Fouhet.
1. Au carrefour de 4 routes, continuer en face sur la route qui tourne à gauche et emprunter le premier chemin carrossable à droite. Au carrefour de quatre chemins, tourner à gauche et longer la tour de chasse.
2. A la route, à hauteur du réservoir, tourner à gauche. Tourner à droite sur la route en direction de Torrent (vue sur les monts du Forez en face). Ignorer deux routes à gauche. Au carrefour suivant, tourner à gauche.
3. A l’entrée de Missonnet, prendre le premier chemin à droite et, au bout, tourner de nouveau à droite. 300 m plus loin, tourner à droite sur un chemin herbeux longeant un bois. Au pré, tourner à gauche et le longer. A la route, tourner à gauche sur 100 m, puis prendre le second chemin à gauche. A la patte d’oie, suivre le chemin de droite. A hauteur d’un petit ruisseau, tourner à gauche sur un chemin creux.
4. Rejoindre alors un chemin plus large et le suivre à droite. Au carrefour de quatre chemins, continuer en face puis, 30 m plus loin, tourner à gauche. A la fourche suivante, tourner de nouveau à gauche. Au carrefour en "T", tourner à gauche et rejoindre Missonnet (belles constructions en pisé). Continuer tout droit dans le hameau en longeant le four à pain.
5. A la sortie, tourner à droite sur la route et, 20 m plus loin, prendre le chemin de droite. Au niveau de l’étang, continuer sur le même chemin qui s’élève (vue sur les hauts de Thiers à droite). Rentrer dans Courtade et continuer sur la route à gauche. Longer le four à pain et continuer tout droit. A la D115, tourner à gauche jusqu’au bourg de St-Jean-d’Heurs.

Departure: church square. Head towards the D 906. Cross it to take the road opposite (D 308 - Be careful with fast traffic). At the cross, continue straight ahead and reach Bel-Air. In the hamlet, go down the grassy path opposite. 1. Take the D 44 on the left; cross the bridge and, 100 m further, go up the small road on the right. Cross Genestoux along the castle and keep the same road. The road becomes a path that we follow straight on. Always follow the main path. At the tarmac road, turn left and join Les Pierres. 2. In the hamlet, pass between 2 houses then turn left onto the road towards Gaillard. In the bend, continue on the road to the right. Cross the town; at the exit, just after the last house, turn right. At the entrance to Coussat, before the first house, take the path on the left. Go down to the bottom of the village and take the path which goes to the right between the houses. At the first intersection, turn left. At the next intersection, continue straight on then, at the next one, continue straight on. 3. At the road, turn left then, 30 meters further, turn right. In the hamlet of Bournoux, continue straight on. At the bread oven, continue to the right. At the bottom of the village, at the road, turn right towards Coulaud. Before the first houses, at the “Give way” sign, turn left. Follow this path (steep climb) to the hamlet of Provarel. Cross the hamlet then, after the last house, leave the road which goes up to the right and take the path on the left (viewpoint over the Puyde-Dôme and the Puys chain). 4. At the hamlet of C h e i x, continue straight on the path which goes down, then up. At the road, turn right. 50 meters further, at the transformer, take the road on the left. Follow the D 44 on the left. 200 meters further, leave the road and take a path on the right in the fields. At the crossroads, follow the path on the right. In the hamlet, take the road on the right. 5. 500 meters later, at the crossroads, turn right to cross La Brousse (bread oven) and continue straight on the tarmac to join the D 906 (be careful with fast traffic). Cross it to take the street opposite. Walk alongside the “Les Toits de la Dore” housing estate, the cemetery and continue to the railway line. At the railway line, turn left and reach the church of Néronde sur Dore.
Walk for everyone
Saint Jean d’Heurs has long been open to everyone young or old, very or less mobile, from here or elsewhere. This walk for everyone, short and without great difficulty, illustrates this state of mind and allows you to discover the woods and fields of this end of Varennes and in the distance, the Puy de Dôme, the Sancy or Pierre sur Haute.
Brevet des Quatre Vents (circuit route n°14)
Ce circuit est l’un des plus courts pour le réaliser en étoile au départ du centre national de Cyclotourisme. Il présente l’avantage d’emprunter de nombreuses petites routes très peu fréquentées. Toutefois, cela impliquera de bien suivre le descriptif pour ne pas s’égarer. Enfin, la portion de route suivant Néronde requiert la plus grande prudence, notamment lorsqu’on quitte la D906 en virant à gauche.
